Sunrise Church is a growing community of people who are journeying with Jesus and courageously trusting Him to do the extraordinary.
Sunrise Church launched in 2023 in the Deep South in Cape Town. We're a diverse community on a journey to learn what it means to love Jesus with all of our hearts. We desire to live out our faith in authentic community by creating spaces to gather together around a love for Jesus and each other.
We hold to the words of the writer in Hebrews who said, "And let us not neglect our meeting together as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” We love to gather and have church! There is something special about gathering together weekly to celebrate, to worship, to learn from God's word, to eat, and to share in community together. We gather every Sunday at Generation School in Imhoff. We're beautifully positioned between Kommetjie, Ocean View, Imhoff, and other surrounding suburbs.
We also see in Acts that Christ followers regularly broke bread together in houses. We find incredible value in meeting together in each others homes; to enjoy hospitality, to encourage each other, to learn from each others stories, and to grow in our spiritual giftings. These are vulnerable and real spaces where you can come as you are - spaces of purpose where we encounter God's presence and love through each other.

Our Pastor
Sunrise is led by Tristan Jensen who along with his wife Emma, daughter Olive, and son Micah, have a passion to connect with Kommetjie, Ocean View and beyond with the life-transforming message of Jesus. They value community and seek to live out an authentic faith. The Jensen family love being outdoors, enjoying all that the Deep South has to offer.
